The all new Dyneema Load Frame V4 featuring WebTech has enabled Airush to further increase the strength of the Razor without an increase in weight.  

WebTech expands Airush's exclusive Dyneema Load Frame throughout the high load areas; such as the wingtips by utilizing the web fibers to absorb the high loads, increasing the durability and response rate of the kite further.

In 2017 the 5th line was set with slightly more tension for added structural rigidity and responsiveness. A new 6m replaces the new 6m replaced the 5.5m creating a more stable platform with better gust response, making the 6m as easy to handle in high wind as the 5.5m. This gives an improvement in parked power for better bottom end results in a much more versatile kite, with a broader wind range.

KITE TECHNOLOGY - Construction

The all-new Airush Dyneema Load Frame featuring WebTech is the key to developing the ultimate benchmark in maximum durability while still being light-weight. By expanding our exclusive Dyneema Load Frame with Webtech throughout the areas normally occupied by Dacron, we are able to minimize or completely remove the heavier fabric and utilize the Dyneema web fibers instead ? increasing strength and minimizing weight.

WebTech minimizes or replaces the traditional Dacron reinforcing by channeling the broader loads into the Load Frame through a web ?sub frame? of Dyneema. This is featured in key areas such as the primary attachment points on the leading edge or the rear attachment points, while also being used to support structural components such as the center strut.

Central to the concept of the Load Frame are the lightweight Dyneema yarns, where each single yarn can carry 40 kg. Think of them as a lightweight web with engineered energy absorption under load, similar to a spider web. These yarns are integrated into the canopy through reinforced taping that allows them to elongate when under extreme load, absorbing most of the shock that traditionally would have run through the canopy. At the same time they carry the primary load of the canopy, preventing stretch and increasing long-term performance.

This premium fabric is designed with a high-density structure using high tenacity polyester yarn, and a double Ripstop configuration. D2 also features a double coating, where prior to weaving the canopy the individual yarns are coated. Once woven the fabric then undergoes a second coating, protecting the yarn as much as possible from UV and abrasion damage. This ensures that the canopy remains as crisp and responsive as possible for as long as possible. This exceptional material is used in conjunction with the Dyneema Load frame resulting in the ultimate combination of durability and performance.

The Gradient Sub Frame creates a more progressive load throughout the kite, greatly reducing strain on key stress points. Working in conjunction with the WebTech we are able to optimize each model specific to the use. For example the Wave kites feature a combination of the gradient wingtip and WebTech for maximum durability, whereas the Ultra reduces the amount of Dacron to reduce weight as much as possible.

The oversized SPS valve (Single Point Inflation System) optimizes inflation and deflation. The Fast Bladder inflation (FBI) features increased wall thickness and oversized diameter tubing, this eliminating tube kink and reducing stress on your pump, resulting in a quick and easy inflation. The SPS Cover supports the tubing further limiting UV damage to the material and prevents over flexing when packing.

The 4-piece strut has an added double folded triple stitch seam aligned with a 20mm wide webbing strip to reduce point of wearing. This increases durability and rigidity of the struts.

With ongoing improvements to the canopy construction, the increased durability has increased the maximum possible loads on the leading edge. By using our Gradient Load Technology on the bridle insert points and leading edge closure (along with Double Stitching), as well as Dimension Polyant Dacron manufactured in Germany, we have created a heavy-duty leading edge that supports the increased performance demands.

The Unity Strut Connection provides a solid point from strut to leading edge to create a stiff structure that helps in performance and relaunching. The Unity Strut Connection works in conjunction with the 4-Piece Struts allow for a thinner and lighter strut.+

The key benefit of the V3 bridle is that the kite maintains steering even when completely de-powered, increasing the usable wind range and overall performance significantly. The V3.1 bridle system contributes significantly to the turning speed and performance of supported leading edge kites. In addition, the total depower adds immensely to the safety benefits. The positioning of the bridle attachment points on the LE of the kite, combined with the V pulleys, give a range of movement. The result is that steering is light, but direct enough to feel where your kite is while riding. Further refinements have allowed us to reduce the length of the bridles, while maintaining the performance characteristics.
