One world. One kite
The 2016 CrazyFly Sculp is a versatile all-around performer, suitable for a wide range of riders and styles. It delivers consistency in all riding disciplines and offers incredible wind range.
With a re-designed shape the Sculp delivers more hang-time and power, while sticking to its core values. The Flat-Delta shapes makes it incredibly smooth, stable and predictable in the air, with progressive power delivery. Precise turning and easy control make it an extremely user friendly kite to fly.
Push it harder and the Sculp will deliver. Clear-cut kiteloops and floaty boosts make it ideal for riders progressing into freestyle. Riders learning new tricks will also appreciate Sculp?s easy relaunch.
The Sculp works best with CrazyFly Sick bar. The first and only bar on the market made 100% in Europe in the CrazyFly factory.
The construction of the 2016 Sculp has been completely changed. The canopy is now made from Double Ripstop for improved rigidity and long lasting durability. The transitions between heavy duty Dacron base and the canopy are in round shapes, rather than sharp angles and straight lines, to spread tension more evenly. Weight has been reduced by 10% even though the kite is stronger. Everything is topped with custom, bright, neon colors exclusively developed and made for CrazyFly.
Lasting Durability, Tear Resistant
The most technologically advanced ripstop material for a kite canopy. This high density polyester yarn provides for ultra light weight, high tearing strength and long lasting durability.
Flat Delta Shape
Widely Popular Allround Shape
Originally designed by CrazyFly for top performance user friendly kites with automatic relaunch, wide wind range and comfortable flight. Flat Delta includes advantages of the traditional Delta shape, but Flat Delta offers more speed due to higher aspect ratio.
3 Struts Design
Reduces Weight, Increases Performance
Reduces the weight of the kite and increases performance. Due to the shape and high quality of materials the kite is strong enough even with 3 struts only.
Simple and Clean
CrazyFly Sick bar is the first and only bar made 100% in Europe from only European materials and components. Our Sick bar has been certified according to the AFNOR NF S52-503 international safety norm. The bar itself is a full carbon monococuqe tube with solid center for extremely light weight and lasting durability. It features a Sick click push away safety system, which can be quickly triggered as well as assembled.
To Protect and Serve
The CrazyFly kite backpack combines functionality and protection for the kite during transport and storage. This kite backpack features a front zip pocket with a small kite repair kit and a turbo valve pump connector. It also has a small zip pocket on the top for storing keys, wallet etc. Furthermore, the kite backpack has extendable top, which allows the kite to be packed down with inflated struts. On one side of the backpack, there are rubber bands for the kite pump and on the other side, there is a webbed pocket for the bar. Also, one side of the backpack is made out of webbing, so sand and dirt can get out of the backpack easily. The shoulder straps are fully padded for increased comfort while carrying. The kite backpack is accepted as a carry on with most of the airlines.

Our Testers Say:
?A strong pulling kite that relaunches easily. I enjoyed the depower rigging cleat and line-setup,? Tom Fristoe.
?The power translated evenly comparably to the bar movement,? Rob Shea.
?The 12 meter really comes alive at its low end in lighter winds,? Davey Beard.
The 2016 Sculp is a 3-strut medium aspect low to medium aspect C-shaped kite that CrazyFly markets as an all around freeride kite. The Sculp comes with a large flow Boston valve that requires the larger inflation nozzle that comes standard with most pumps which makes for a quick inflate and deflate. There?s three wingtip steering settings for adjusting turning speed/bar pressure and a single setting front bridle that utilizes two pulleys. This year CrazyFly made significant changes to the construction that makes this kite feel lighter in the air. Testers commented on the Sculp?s medium plus bar pressure and noted it?s predictable turning speed. Testers found the Sculp easy to boost good size jumps with its predictable steering and good hangtime helping for soft controlled landings. Testers felt the Sculp really came alive in the upper edge of its wind range and found the relaunch to be fairly good when powered. Testers recommend the Sculp as an all around cruiser that is great for entry level and intermediate riders that are looking for a reliable freeride kite.
The 2016 Sick Bar is a full carbon fixed length (40, 45, 50, 55cm) bar with different line lengths based on bar length and a PU sheeting/throw line, no sliding stopper, metal insert, molded donkey dick, single center-line safety, low V, above bar depower Clam cleat with a strategically positioned Velcro tuning handle to keep the depower control toggle from tangling and a push away quick release with integrated swivel that doubles as a quick release guard. The center lines end in a knot and the outside lines end in pigtails. The length of sheeting/throw cannot be adjusted for varying arm lengths of kiters or the type of riding. The molded floats are stiffer than last years yet still kind of flexible. This is a huge improvement with regard to keeping the lines tightly wound and organized on the bar when not in use. The bar ends are soft and incorporate easy to use non-retractable bungees and the outside leader lines do not adjust for tuning/stretch. Overall, riders liked the simple narrow diameter, firm yet smooth rubber grip of the Sick bar and recommend it as a simple yet functional control system.
2016 CRAZY FLY Sculp
The Sculp remains at the core of the CrazyFly range for 2016. It has always been pitched as the ?accessible do-it-all? option and this year it has been given some extra attention. With Double Ripstop now bringing the Sculp up to the ?gold standard? for current kite construction it is clear that CrazyFly are keen to ensure that the Sculp is a kite that delivers for the entire spectrum of riders.
Three struts and a few construction tweaks keep the weight nice and low and the kite is 10% lighter than last year. We don?t often comment on bags, but it has to be said that this is one of the classiest on the market and merits a mention. The Sick Bar has also had a revisit with a new colorway and with a softer EVA grip. Full carbon, 100% made in Europe and one of the lightest bars on the market? What else do you need to know?
On the water and the Double Ripstop delivers a crisper and more assertive feeling Sculp. Power on and off is very smooth and intuitive and you could quite happily send someone out for their first few sessions on the Sculp. Turn things up a notch though and the Sculp performs very nicely indeed ? the low end is excellent and powers you around very nicely, then the turning is positive and you feel very plugged in wherever the kite is in the air.
For boosting you can really pull on the bar and it?ll send you sky high, and if you want to slip a kiteloop in it?ll spin round positively. It?ll happily unhook if you want to lay down some wakestyle moves and it?s also a nice responsive kite for onshore riding with a surfboard.
Overall a great evolution to one of the true all-rounders.
